The Non-Technical Founder's Introduction to Tech

Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 12 pm (Central)

Do you have an idea for an app or a web business, but don’t have the technical skills to build it? The good news is that you don’t have to learn how to build the product yourself, but you do have to hire the people to do it and ask them the right questions.

nontech--1-Even knowing where to begin can be a daunting task, with thousands of courses about learning to code or product management. While those are useful skills, if you are starting from scratch, you need an overview of all the skills you will need, rather than a deep dive into one discipline. As founder your job is to manage and motivate the technical team, not write code yourself.

This 60 minute session will give an introduction of what you need to know to effectively work in a tech based business:

  • Intro to product management

  • User experience design

  • Difference between back end and front-end development

  • How to hire and work with developers

  • Introduction to analytics

Join us and learn how to overcome your skills gap and scale your business!

NOTE: To delve deeper into how apps and sites are made, and boost your skills, Sophia is hosting an Online Course: Tech for Non-Technical Founders.

Do you have an idea for an app or a web-based business, but no idea how to build it? In this course you will get an overview of the basic concepts you need to run or launch a tech startup as a non-technical founder from someone who has done it themselves.

A non-technical founder’s job is not to learn to code, but to successfully manage the technology production process and make sure it aligns with business goals. To do this successfully, non-technical founders need to understand technology workflows, learn how to ask the right questions and collaborate with designers and developers.

Held over 5 weeks, with live webinars, recorded content and expert interviews, this course is a unique opportunity to learn about the innovative world of tech for non-technical professionals.
Discover how apps and sites are made, boost your skills and make 2020 your most exciting year yet.
